Google Opening up the SME Software as a Service play for web 2.0 applications

Google's app-engine applications for Google Apps for domains

What is game changing about this is that 3rd party application developers now have access to small businesses that google has signed up on its free e-mail for domain platform the google apps. So suddenly a web 2.0 developer can go beyond orkut applications on a relatively non-monetized social network and start building applications for paying businesses. It is likely that the leap of faith required to sign up for an application that exists on Google Apps is far lower than resistance to sign up for an entirely new application.

Breaking News: Google issues advisory for NDTV's site 'Reported Attack Site!'

Google search results are warning that NDTV.com is reportedly an attack site which could probably install malware on your machine. It is likely that servers running NDTV.com have been compromised or their web frontend has been vulnerable to cross-site scripting issues.

Google search results for ndtv

This definitely qualifies as a breaking news as much as our news channels pass of dull routine stuff as breaking news on their ticker.

Some discussions about it seen here.

More here at Google's diagnostic page. Google's advisory may not be available after NDTV.com stops serving malware thats why the screenshots.

Update from the above advisory:
<Quote>
Of the 833 pages we tested on the site over the past 90 days, 6 page(s) resulted in malicious software being downloaded and installed without user consent. The last time Google visited this site was on 2008-11-21, and the last time suspicious content was found on this site was on 2008-11-20.

So it is likely that malware issue has been fixed by now. Firebug console on my firefox didn't show up the malicious sites listed by the advisory ( douhunqn.cn, ppexe.com, 61.31.235.0 ) serving content through ndtv.com anymore.

Q: Am I qualified to attend FOSS.IN?
A: FOSS.IN is for anyone who is interested in FOSS. However, understand that the focus is contribution to, not use of, FOSS. So if your objective is to contribute (in terms of writing code or documentation, testing, developing artwork, etc.) then FOSS.IN is for you. FOSS.IN has no policy that excludes anyone from attending the event - there is no “qualification” other than your interest in FOSS.
