I am not sure if Fedora is very usable on a desktop out of the box. It needs a lot of work before it becomes as usable as say Mandrake 9.2 on a desktop. I think its practical to use a distribution thats updated regularly for the servers.
The growth figures are a vote of confidence for Fedora.
