Recently in an indian state the fundamental rights of law abiding citizens of India have been sacrificed to competitive regional politics. Full marks for guessing which state I am talking about. The rule of law has been a casualty and extra-constitutional power centers have been allowed to have their writ enforced illegally in a cosmopolitan city. The state government has failed in discharging its constitutional obligations and should have been dismissed by now. The national parties of India are equally to blame for supporting and having tie-ups with regional formations with separatist demands. In this particular case the party in power in center and the state has abdicated its constitutional responsibilities of protecting the fundamental right to life and liberty of indian citizens while main opposition party is a silent spectator. Competitive regionalism for sake of vote banks is at play and only a punishment meted out by educated classes by voting as one block at the hustings would cure them of this malaise. With delimitation of constituencies tilting scales in favor of urban indians who are less caste, region, religion and language conscious than their rural brethren the task of awakening the new set of voters to the perils of destructive politics lies with us bloggers. It doesn't do bloggers any credit if we play into hands of divisive politicians and divide ourselves into hindi speaking north indians or marathi manoos or kannadiga sons of soil. We need to fight back as rational Indians. It is a battle for the minds. The street fights that don't determine the victors in today's world. What are 7000-15000 street fighters against what the voiceless majority thinks is right. The fringe elements have cast the first(second and nth) stone in this battle for minds and we have been silent. We need to push back the fringe elements to where they belong into the dustbin of history, un-heard and forgotten. India cannot and should not remain a predominantly rural country. 600-900 more million people need to move into the cities to make India an urban nation un-tarnished by violence due to differences of sex, sexual orientation, caste, religion, language, culture or thought. If this is how our cities are to become ghettos run by self proclaimed Godfather(s) backed by violent and malevolent crowds then we might as well resign ourselves to the regressive individualism hating medieval society that pervades so many of our villages and forever be resigned to brain drain of our best and brightest minds to the relatively free societies of the west. |

1. We should teach our kids that if he is second in class, don’t study harder.. just beat up the student coming first and throw him out of the school.
Reply - We should teach our kids that if someone comes first in class, don’t bother, we should beat him up hard and ensure no one comes first. This way, we ensure no one is educated. Basically, why should we educate ourselves? Ideas of education sprung from the mind of Mahatma Phule, again a Marathi Manoos. Let them build the Oxford of the East. Why should we worry about the constitution of India? It was written by a Marathi Manoos by the name of Ambedkar. After all, ‘Jugaad’ is our birthright. //
2. Parliament should have only Delhiites as it is located in Delhi.
Reply - Henceforth, the wealth of Maharashtra should only be restricted to Maharashtrians. Maharashtra is the highest tax payer of all states in India. Why should they give their money to Delhi? To give it to UP and Bihar under the pretext of ‘underdeveloped states’?
3. Prime Minister, President and all other leaders should only be from Delhi.
Reply - Chief Minister of Maharashtra, MPs from Maharashtra should only be from Maharashtra. This already happens. CEOs, COOs, Bollywood actors should only be from Maharashtra in the companies set up in Maharashtra.
4. No Hindi movie should be made in Bombay. Only Marathi.
No movie should be made in India at all. We should ban making movies completely. The first movie was made by N. G. Chitre and Dadasaheb Torne named ‘Pundalik’ directed by Dadasaheb Phalke and V. Shantaram. Oh, all four Marathi Manoos, we should never ever ever ever ever let a movie be produced.
5. At every state border, buses, trains, flights should be stopped and staff changed to local men
And this is why we should have fewer trains plying from Mumbai to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Total number of trains from Mumbai to UP – Bihar is greater than the number of trains from Mumbai to inside Maharashtra.
6. All Maharashtrians working abroad or in other states should be sent back as they are SNATCHING employment from Locals.
All non – Maharashtrian Indians should be sent back from abroad or other states as they are SNATCHING employment from Locals. //
7. Lord Shiva, Ganesha and Parvati should not be worshiped in our state as they belong to north (Himalayas)
Chhath Puja is supposed to be performed in river Ganga. It should be performed in river Ganga only, not in Arabian Sea. Ganesh festival should not be celebrated as it was started by Lokmanya Tilak, a Marathi Manoos again.
8. Visits to Taj Mahal should be restricted to people from UP only.
Visits to Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Nashik, Aurangabad, Ajanta and Ellora Caves should be restricted to people from Maharashtra only.
9. Relief for farmers in Maharashtra should not come from centre because that is the money collected as Tax from whole of India, so why should it be given to someone in Maharashtra?
Maharashtra is the number one taxpayer in India. Mumbai alone constitutes 30% of the tax of the country. The tax money should be paid back proportionately. Why should that go to some routine states under the garb of ‘underdeveloped states’?
10. Let’s support Kashmiri Militants because they are right to killing and injuring innocent people for benefit of their state and community…
Let us support naxalites for the same. Let us support the Assamese killing Biharis. Let us support Punjabis killing Biharis blowing bomb in Bhojpuri theatres. (These attacks have happened prior to MNS attacks). Let us not support law and order in Mumbai and let the bhaiyya goons do what they want.
11. Let’s throw all MNCs out of Maharashtra, why should they earn from us? We will open our own Maharashtra Microsoft, MH Pepsi and MH Marutis of the world.
Why just Maharashtra? Let’s throw MNCs out of India. Don’t MNCs stand for multi-national corporations? UP and Bihar have next to negligible MNCs and they are true Indians for this. We should follow their example. Karnataka, Andhra, Tamilnadu are all traitor states for this as they don’t even know proper Hindi and also house MNCs.
12. Let’s stop using cellphones, emails, TV, foreign Movies and dramas. James Bond should speak
Marathi.
Why should Indians use cellphones of a Finnish company (Nokia) or American company (Motorola) or a south Korean company (Samsung), Emails, movies (oh, they will banned from now) and dramas of USA and other countries? Bill Gates should speak Hindi and Nokia, Google should have a Hindi name first before being used in India. If they do not give Hindi names, they are anti – nationals.
13. We should be ready to die hungry or buy food at 10 times higher price but should not accept imports from other states.
We should die hungry or do not buy food at all but should not go for job to other states. Why should we enrich their tax collection?
14. We should not allow any industry to be setup in Maharashtra because all machinery comes from outside.
We should not allow any industry to setup in India because all machinery comes from outside.
15. We should STOP using local trains… Trains are not manufactured by Marathi manoos and the railway minister is a Bihari
We should stop using trains completely. Trains were invented by the Britishers. Oh, it were the Britishers who laid railway tracks in India. We should stop using trains completely. We should use only bullock carts and do more advanced 'chara ghotalas' like our patriotic leaders. It is anti – national to use trains just as non – hindi speaking people working in MNC are anti - national.
16. Ensure that all our children are born, grow, live and die without ever stepping out of Maharashtra, then they will become true Marathis
Ensure that all our children born, grow, live and die without ever stopping out of India, then they will become true Indians, not like these non – Hindi speaking people working in MNCs.
Any replies, eh? I am waiting!

JAI MAHARASHTRA!
Go back to rediff dude
First of all who is Raj Thackeray ? and why have you chosen to abandon rediff to comment here.
a higher order than state
...or to take your thought further -- while the 'sons of soil' cannot see beyond the city or state or party they belong to, nationalists cannot see beyond country borders.
Question then comes up --- what exactly is a nation or state (or any belief system for that matter)? If you look at the nation called India -- it was just a conglomeration of princely states and kingdoms without a definitive name for a long time. In most cases, a nation is carved out by a combination of events, some completely random and a few people who hovered around power zones in their wish for self importance (mind you, it is never for the 'masses', since it is pretty much impossible to find out exactly what the masses really want without doing a grand scale survey).
It has nothing to do with you or I. In fact, no one ever really asked us after our births which nation or state or religion we really want to belong to. We are normally thrown into it without our conscious knowledge, and have to live with the fact for the rest of our lives.
Why then do we adhere to a belief system? Is it out of necessity? Is it because we actually believe it in? I for one, perhaps due to the sheer movement in my life and location, have never had a chance to believe in borders. "I am a dog without border, an audience to the great unfolding drama called life who moves to where the drama is. I am here for a measly seventy years, and I dont have time to waste in trivialities."
If you take this argument further, you would see where I am getting at. If there are 'sons of soil' making existence intolerable... and if you are vagabond enough, I recommend moving to places in the world where time can be spent more fruitfully. Throughout history, those who have ventured beyond these borders have been rewarded.
In that sense, I argue that brain drain is a necessity for human progress. If that means a loss for the nation state, then so be it --- if the power-hungry cannot create an ecosystem where the brains can thrive and create (despite the sons of soil and other such men), then they don't deserve their salaries (which comes out of the pockets of the tax paying creators).
Yet, mobility is a privilege of a few liberated ones (either financially or philosophically or otherwise). If one is bound to a particular location or environment due to other factors out of control (such as family), it does make sense to do as much as needed to control the environment.
However, to control power, you need to be a power in yourself. To control 'Sons of Soil' (who have anything but your/public's interest in their minds), you have to BECOME an exact opposing force that neutralizes it. Every force requires an equal and opposing force to maintain equilibrium.
So then... who bells the cat?
I would rather just move and not worry about the hassle that it involves (and yes, its a highly selfish gesture... but my brain tells me that there is nothing outside my head). :)
So, what if the whole world becomes tyrannical then, Moon ?
The price of freedom is eternal vigilance. Sure I as an individual want to live free in a free society and I fully support the idea that individuals quest for excellence should not be constrained by the nation states. Neither should us be bogged down in pointless and un-productive tirades Pensieri Stretti. Sure our connection to a nation state is not out of choices we made. However the perils of not opposing tyrannical ideas and their appeasement shall eventually leave only a moon base for free humans.
of course!
As the virus eats away, we run and keep running. Until one day, fighting back remains the only option. We would fight even sooner, but not too soon... or else time may be wasted.
